What is a "Domain"?
An Internet Domain name is the bit after the "@" in an e-mail address or after the "www" in a web site address. Every Domain on the Internet is a unique name, and the "extension" will usually give some indication of the type of organisation using the name. For example, a UK-based company may use .co.uk after its name; a non profit-making organisation in the UK may use .org.uk |
